Most tuna will unwind your bass gear so fast that you wouldn't have time to react... What kind of reel are you using, that way we might be able to determine how many seconds of line capacity you'll have

Don't forget, you need to spend $27 for a rec. tuna licence.
The SW wind in CCbay will give you a following sea on the way out, and pound you on the way home (especially if your in my 17 footer).
I find the wind predictors to be a bit on the light side, if they say 13kts, I'd excpect winds up to 20kts and that will pick the seas up considerably.
This time of year you can follow the birds with a small popper/ 50+ lb test leader and enjoy some easy bluefish fishing. I've had the most success with small chrome poppers.
The SW wind will give you pretty smooth seas along the south shore coast.
Just outside of green harbor had huge schools just waiting to be caught on Tuesday.

Good luck and be careful and have fun.

oh yeah GO PATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Winds vs Tides

mrmacey,

You should be aware that although a 13 mph wind blowing WITH the tide may seem do-able, that same wind blowing AGAINST a strong tide, can raise a big sea in a hurry.
Plan for a roundtrip with the absolute latest MARINE forecast for wind and a solid knowledge of what the tide will be doing both ways.

BTW...the current marine forecast for Cape Cod Bay Saturday, is for SW 15-20 kts.....with full moon tides.

Have fun, be careful.

Dave
