Cox Cable High Def channel selection

Now that i'm in RI i'm using Cox Cable for my cable service. I just hooked my serviice up yesterday and was kinda disapointed with thier selection of HD channels compared to Comcast i had in MA.

No CBS in HD??

And i only get some HD channels and not others? I need to pay extra to get NESN HD??

I'm gonna call and see whats up but the selection seems terrible for HD channels.

Anyone know when ALL channels will be in HD?

After watching things in HD all the other channels look like crap!

NESN HD is 725 for me, no extra charge.

The lack of CBS really drives me nuts too. Many of the Patriots games are on CBS.

I haven't made the jump to HD yet, but its coming soon and I've been watching waht's available. Right now I'm planning on going with cox for just the basic analog service (in case of weather problems) and going with one of the satellite providers, where I can get everything in HD without a lot of extra charges.

I was watching somebody's satellite HD feed this weekend and was completely disapointed. It could have been his TV set or something else, but I wasn't impressed. The fact that it went down twice for a minute or so during the game was a little concerning too.

It's funny, before the day was even out after this post I discovered a new "pay for" channel in my HD line up where CBS should be.

"NFL High Definition" subscription service. FU Cox.

Anyone else using Direct TV or the Dish network? I figured they were the way to go to get the variety, but if the reception stinks, then what's left?

No crap, why do we get freakin PBS in HD but not CBS???? Comcast has CBS HD. Maybe because its the Boston CBS? Maybe the Prov. CBS just sucks?

I wouldn't be scared off by my experiences, but just make sure they have a trial period. It just seems I hear more complaints about Dish's.

I think you also need to have a HD antenna in addition to the dish to get standard broacast channels like NBS, CBS, etc.

The only real complaints I ever hear about cable is the price, and sometimes the channel selection.

They must have fixed my service the other day, i now get Nesn HD and all the other ones i'm supposed to get.

I went to watch the football game yesterday and noticed no Fox HD either?? No Fox or CBS HD? WTF Cox??

But i get PBS HD so i guess i should be happy

Why put up NFL Network HD before CBS or Fox?

I just dont get it...

Ok Cox's HD set up officially blows. I cant watch any NFL Football today in HD, no CBS and no Fox HD.

F'ing Cox. Why even have HD if ya can't watch Patriots football in HD!!??

Cox needs to get thier act together.

Ok i needed to vent again, now i feel better.

Skipper,

Perhaps you should consider multi-tasking. Try cleaning the house or doing deep prep for your next dinner party.

This way, you're only paying 1/2 time attention to the game. You really won't miss the HD at all.

True True, but the old man just got me this new 37" HD TV for my new Apartment, so i'm looking to show it off! Especially with him coming down later. But in time Cox will get thier act together, i hope!

Actually Cox just scored some good bonus points with me, they're carrying the Uconn basketball game tonight on Cox channel 3. Would not be able to watch this on my old Comcast. Guess they dont suck that much!

Watched the games in HD at my daughters on Thursday. She has comcast in CT and gets all the channels in HD, even the new NFL channel. Cox doesn't do the HD unless you pay through the nose and even then you can't get them all.
