VS 200 question
I know there is a VS 200 under the tree for me which i picked out to switch between my gsb 120L and and my gsb132L.
Any chance that this thing will somewhat balance on my 8 ft avid? or is it going to be way to uncomfortable to fish with. I was using a stradic 4000 but after several issues with it I am not to happy with the reel.

I think you'l find it too big for an 8 foot rod.

It won't be ideal, but it will work. Back in my late teens, when I could only afford one reel, I used a Penn 704 on an 8' Berkley rod.
Funny how no matter when you buy them, reels always seem to cost a week's pay

By surf standards it will be a bit large, but by boat standards it really wouldn't be out of place. I usually throw plugs from the boat with a stout 7'6" stick with a 250 on it.
It'll be fine, just not ideal. Enjoy the reel, it will serve you well.

I would fish it on an 8 foot. Its as light as some other smaller reels you might put on an 8 foot.
