Patagonia or Simms are the only ones that stand a chance of holding up. You can go with Orvis or Bean for the warranty but you'll be sending them in before the end of next season even if you don't put a hook throught them. IMO for the money Cabela's are the best and they will replace them almost as willingly as Bean.

last pair lasted me 15 yrs heavy use .. been patching them the last 3.. I just ordered another pair to keep in the car .. I have the Simms G3's and they are comfy and I got spiked boots to go with them. The Simms I'm rinsing after trips ,,hanging to dry,, but not in the sun ,,will ruin neopreme booties ,, have to remember to put them in the car if I'm going after work ,,Hope its not to hot in the car for them all day ,, be careful not to brush against the spiky barnicle rocks, Not use to all this ,, I throw the gralite in the cooler in the back of the suv and forget about them till november ,, always there.. never rinse .. patch very well if you have to .. They are butt ugly and not pajamas.. very reliable with no care ..

I've been looking at the LLBean west branch waders with integrated boot. I've had other waders with neoprene booties and when beach sand gets between them and the shoe, you can easily wear through the neoprene bootie. This is my biggest fear with Simms G3 and the like.

I like my Cabelas Gold Medal waders.Two full seasons and no leaks yet.For what I paid for them that ain't to shabby.

There are two issure about the simms that are stopping me from buying them:

1) The time it takes to get them one...looks like it would take much longer then jumping in a pair of boot waders.

2) the sand issue in the boots
Simple question: Have you ever had to take off your boots while fishing to get the sand out with the G3's?

i've got the cheap cabelas dry plus GII. no problems for 2 or 3 years. i'm pretty clumsy and tend to destroy my stuff too. i just can't justify spending over 100 for a pair of waders.

if you fish sand do not buy stocking foot waders.i fish rocks 99% of the time and like stocking foot.but i dont have the g-3's maybe there diffrent.

1. Yes takes alot longer to put them on,, You don't want to put them on over cotton (dungarees).. You have to wear something that wicks under them or your not getting the full affect of pajama comfort..So you have to go shopping for polypropolene "under armour" type stuff or some sweat pants /warm up pants that are Not cotton to wear underneath . So if your going fishing after work you have to take your work pants off in the street in a strange neighbor hood like I do ..

2 ,,. ? I duno .. never in the sand .

1) I used to think that, but the lightness of the stockingfoots more than makes up for the little time spent tieing the shoes. If you are a walker they make all the difference in the world.
2)Don't know about G3s but no with my beans.
I mostly fish rocks though.
If you think you might like stockingfoots I'd try a pair of beans you can always send them back if they are no good for what you do.

Whatever ones you choose save the box to send them back in and make sure of how long the warranty is in effect. It cost about ten dollars to send one pair back and brown wrapping paper to cover the box. It sure makes the fact that they leaked easier to swallow if you are assured of getting new ones just by saving the box and spending ten dollars for shipping. We all have two pair anyways.

I switched to stocking foot waders because I do a lot of walking on the beach. Putting on the waders is no big deal. With the proper foot ware I have found that I get almost no sand at all in my boots. Time will tell how long these will last. FishHawk

Orvis has an impressive warranty claims department.

They send you a brand new pair no questions asked. In my case anyway.

The big advantage of stocking foot waders in the rocks is the degree of ankle support they offer. By the same token, they do fill with sand on the beach which gets quite annoying. You don't need the toughness of G3's, however, if you are fishing on sand.

Yup, first waders I've ever owned that did not leak in less than one season. Now 2 seasons + and still perfect.

This year you'll be able to have the new Simms boot attached to any wader they make, from intro to top of the line.

They don't have it on their website yet but it's REAL nice boot from the Muck Boot company. $100 more to the price of a pair of stockingfoots, but, that's what a Muck Boot costs from anyone attached to a wader or otherwise.

L.L. Bean west branch. Best I've ever owned.Very light and cool if you have to hike the shore long distances. I primarily fish rocks in them and they held up very well this season.No corkers needed either with the felt soles. I can get them off quicker than a dress on prom night too.

This is very interesting. Last year just before I bought a another pair of waders I actually called up simms to see if they would make me a custom G3 with a boot. The women I spoke with told me they were working on something that would be out later this year (ie last year) and I would be interested in it but would not tell me anything about it. This looks to be what she was talking about.
