Big Tides//

WEll guys, the past four days just brought the lowest moon tides I've ever seen. every once in a while we'll get a good [exceptional] one when we get a real strong blow from the n/w around the moon. BUT I have never seen anything like the past four days. In Warwick Cove it actually dropped to were it was at the channel banks. nnedless to sayI saw bottom and rocks ,etc that I've never seen before. It would have been the perfect time to scout the shoreline so I'd have a clue this season on where to surf fish . but you do what you have to do. The season getting closer, I was dry digging in places I've never been able to reach. For me that was a special treat. Four days of digging with no one around me[not many dry did anymore]a couple of deer ,plenty of geese, and some kind of animal up the shoreline that I couldn't tell what it was. To make it even better,no gloves at all plus a baseball cap. and bags of mixed shellfish, can't get any better. I wish I could have saved the clamworms,------- they were so big I'd hook them by the tail and let them grab the stripers with their pinchers I/m beat but it was worth it, and based on tomorrows forecast I'll coast. may you all enjoy what you have///

ENJOY WHAT YOU HAVE !!!

Well its going to be real snotty tomorrow. Warm nut very windy and getting cold in the afternoon. Tell you what I'm looking forward to, really hitting some of my favorite night time spots on moon lows during the day to see what it looks like underneath... Take my son down to the water and introduce him to the sea...

The moon is closer to the earth this cycle than it normally is, which means its gravitational pull on the water is about as high as it ever gets. Couple that with the NW winds pushing water out of the bays (has the same effect here, too--the CG posted an advisory for today) and you'll see rocks today you won't see again for awhile.

I would have loved to scout for jigs and sinkers today along the Canal ;-)

We'll guys I was right, super tide yesterday, I went out what a trip////// low was 305pm but at 430 pm it still wasn/t going in ,usually no big deal except the tepmerature had dropped 20 degrees and my boat was grounded in three inches of water. no problem I'll just wait it out//// I figured I/d call my wife so she would,'t worry . Oh boy did I catch it she already was in a panic==== she had been trying to call me --- but I can't hear the radio from shore, she wanted to call the Coast Guard ==right## we/ll I finally got back to the dock at 645. she was there as long as my sister and a friend. needless to say I'm in the ----. But what she doesn't understand is me against the elements==== old man and the sea... I loved it still pumped up , ..going to be another tide today no chance of going. Iguess you have to have it in you yo understand/// three bags of shellfish to sell tomorrow morning, bet I won/t have to wait in line/////til the next time//

ENJOY WHAT YOU HAVE !!!

Good to see you made it OK. That weather was cranking yesterday for sure. As far as being in the nasty elements, it does add an extra element of excitement to things. Well, hopefully you won't be in the dog house for too long...

Speaking of being on the snotty water, GS, did you get out yesterday??

You against the elements is fine but you don't want to push your luck too far with the water or with the wife!!
