Town fair tire?
Anybody here buy tires there before? There's one right up in Dartmouth. Benny's is a freakin joke and I'm done with them.
Unfortunate for me that my girl drove that extra mile on a flat because she doesn't have a cell and was afraid to change the tire. The funny thing is she took this class to learn how to change tires, plugs etc. After plugging it its amazing that this tire is actually holding 35psi for over an hour considering how misshapen it is.
Oh well.

Basswipe, my mechanic and the owners of the garage I deal with told me that they cannot buy tires as cheap as BJ's buys them and puts them on for you.

Do you have to be a member of BJs?
They're right here in Middletown about a 1/2 mile from the house I'm working on.

My friend got his tires at TFT and told them to save the old tires because they had great tread left.
Needed a new size for the beach . when he got back they got rid of his tires and lost his spaire tire & rim..
He ended up having to pay and filed a judgement against them won in court settled for 1/2 the price.

I've been a www.tirerack.com guy for more then a few years now.
The trick is to have someone who can install them cheap. Otherwise the savings over buying locally isn't that noticeable.
Obviously if you show up at Town Fair Tire (for example) with 4 tires from tirerack.com they hose you for every single installation charge they can think of.
A local garage or a friend with a garage is the key.

I worked at a BJ's in VA installing tires about 5 or 6 years ago while in college and you did not have to be a member for service, but it was a discounted price if you were.
still cheaper than anywhere else around.

Like the other threads mention, they seem a little on the pricey side.
Got a better set of tires for a decent price at a Firestone dealeship.
Sold me a ten ply towing tire, they got about 50k miles on them at this point.

It was suggested to me to try Wal-Mart for tires a month ago. I got 4 tires, Continental installed for 400 bucks. Free mounting, balancing and stems. I paid 8 bucks for tire disposal. 408 dollars for 4 tires was the best price I could find on new 80,000 mile tires. All other places were 627.00- 700 (included alignment ). Service took some time but worth it for me.

If there is a costco in the area they have $60 off coupon until 2/5 on Michelins. The tires ended up about $120 less than Town fair.

Only thing good about TF is the road hazard warranty. New tires every year..

I've bought at TFT, as much for the convience as for the price. They have a shop within walking distance of my office. Prices are O.K. but not great. They do offer a price guarantee.
