Boat Show

Took the little kids yesterday to the show. Not able to seriously look too much as I was chasing the rugrats around.

Awesome show. I'll be going back this week to look a little more closely.

Couple of things stuck out. The Searay space is awesome. For those looking at cruisers, you got to check them out. Up to 49 feet. The Grady exhibit has almost all the lineup, including the Chase 273 for those wondering if it was there from an earlier thread.

As I'm looking at 30ish cabin models, they seem awfully cramped after looking at the 44 and 49 foot Searays!!

Worth spending some time, its a huge show.

Show at the Expo center was great, so much better than at the bayside. Had a good time with the kids on Monday.

Boat Show

Went last night. Place was huge and lots more space. However, it was pretty empty people-wise and a lot of the booths were unmanned. Example-couldn't renew The Fisherman magazine as well as others...the plus was no waiting lines to see the boats or ask questions.

Huge is right, felt like a mile walk once you get thru the front doors.

It was a good show, I liked the 20ft Novi Hull styled boat that was puhsed by 70hp. I can't think of the name, ... maybe Cape Cod Trawler . Looked like a lot of boat.

It was interesting talking to the DMF guys, the boat they had there had twin etecs with 1400hrs and to date no issues, that was interesting.

It was my first time on the T Silver Line, fast ride from South Station, of course no signs to say the convention center is at the World Trade Center exit, but asking the driver was simple enough.

If you can make it go, it was well worth the visit. The pictures are both sides of the show from the cat walk that splits this place in half.

I agree, an awesome show. It also reaffirmed my belief that boating is a wealthy man's endeavor. A 36' Grady White with 3 250hp four bangers for 450K? That is absolutely insane.

I'll take the 33' Topaz with a pair of C7 Cats for the same money, thanks for asking!

That 33 Fountain is THE boat. Does 50 with twins on the back and has an unbelievable layout. If I hit the lottery that might make an appearance in the yard. Also loved the 26 Glacier Bay "Canyon Runner" edition. That will get a real SERIOUS look next year along with the Carolina Classic 25'. That was my favorite boat. Some of the new electronics were simply amazing. Great take and it was not crowded at all. Finally a nice CC was the 26' Jones Brothers. Just wish it had a hardtop instead of a canvas top.

Retro Marine - I really like this boat, tons of deck space. Only draws 9" but just don't know how it would run in a 3' chop.

I was looking at that 25 Carolina Classic also (dreaming) but did you notice it didn't have any fish boxes??? I asked the folks there and they confirmed this. Now the next size up was a beauty, extra 2' at the beam with plenty of storage.

I went twice, once tuesday with the wife & kids and again last night. I've been talking with the guys at Pike/Eagle Marine re the new 220VX Hydrasports. Absolutely awesome boat. I couldn't pull the trigger at the show but will be crucnhing some numbers soon. If not this season, most likely next.

Mike,
Agreed there arent any fish boxes but the platform will allow two huge coolers which can double as seats work stations what have you without compromising the fishability of the cockpit. I just like the ultra heavy built deisel powered mini battlewagon. Great reliability, seakeeping, due to belly weight and its overall efficiency. That other boat you like is one hell of a boat.

well then you might as well nip that 2'itice and just get the 28 Carolina . Love that boat, but for the same if not less money you could get the Proline 32.

it is, and I think 130hp is max. If it could cruise at 22 - 25kts I'd be very happy.
