Question What plugs are in your bag this fall?

It changes from week to week as I switch out plugs from time to tiime but, for me, as of last week:

2, 7" superstrike needlefish: 1 yellow
1 black/yellow

1 all black fat stubby needlefish superstrike

1 large (1.5 oz) Spro (in a mullet finish)

2, 7" mega-baits minnow (one yellow/silver one blueback/silver)

1, 3oz black gibbs bottle

1 2 oz Habs needle (black/purple)

1 mag-darter about 1.5 oz, (I think it is a yozuri) in a dark olive back fish-like finish. this is an excellet plug, tried it last year for the first time, if you haven't tried it do so. (casts great for 1.5 oz!and is perfectly balanced and swims better then any darter I have ever seen. IMO this is the best "designed" plug on the market. It catches nice fish too! (try it when needles are not working)

1 rigged up 9" slugo (rubber eel) Always have this on hand.

1 super strike darter (all yellow about 2-2.5 oz)

1 gibbs polaris poper 3-3.5 oz

1 loaded red fin

1 8" or so, expensive minnow plug made in finland...casts like crap but can out swim mark spits. (use only with wind at back or still conditions)

Wow, 14 plugs ( I have a big bag and it is crammed with stuff)

Other junk in there....

hooks, leaders, eel rigs, 1 bunker snagging trebble (I should take this out there are no big bunker in the sea anymore)

several leaders most rigged with droppers.
6" slugos
4" fins
3 salt water flies of differnet styles

in the front I have a few tins: a couple charlie graves, a kastmasterr or two, a large deadly #^&#^&#^&#^&, and one of those fishlike metal jigs that advertise so much (never caught a thing on it but it looks good)

Like most of you I have a few boxes of plugs that reamain in the vehicle as a backup supply. If it is daytime I will switch out some of the swimmers for poppers.

plugs i want to try that I don't have:

3 oz habs

beachmaster danny

I am looking for some fresh ideas, what plugs are in your bag?

I carry two bags. One is the now middle sized Canyon and I carry a small bronco bag on my surf belt.

In the Bronco, I carry all my bucktails, A B-2 jighead with the squid body, three snagging hooks. In the front pouch, I carry all my trailers, mostly curly tails grubs. I love the bag but I wish Bronco put either velcro or plastic twists to keep it closed. It has metal closures and they have rusted. They still work but it's not as pretty.

In the large bag, I have this list of lures, I listed it on another thread.
Bridgeport eel jig (Metal tin with a green surgical tube)
2 Acme Fiords with yellow tubes
2 Windcheaters. One green over white, one black over white.
A blue over white 5/8 Casting swimmer.
A 1 5/8 oz blue over white darter.
A blue over yellow darter (not sure of the weight, maybe I can weigh it up there but it's large)
A black over grey Habs Needlefish.
A blue scale Boone Needlefish.
A 5 inch black over silver Redfin
A 7 inch blue over silver Redfin.
Krocodiles of 3 sizes
A 1 5/8 oz Danny Swimmer in a mackeral finish.
A Gag's popper in blue mackeral finish.
A large creek chub popper in silver
A small creek chub popper in red head/white.
A green over white Acme Need-L-Eel
Some smaller bucktails (about an oz)
A 4 inch Yo-Zuri in firetiger.
A Bagley Top Gun in Yellow over white.
A roadrunner
A 7 inch Mambo Minnow in black.
A 7 inch Cordell Pencil popper black over silver.
A 3 oz hopkins.
2 Mr. Bunkers by Gags.
9 inch sluggo in black over white
10 inch Fin-S fish in black over white.
An Atom plug redhead/yellow.
A Rapala SuperShad Rap in shad finish.

I keep the fiords, the bridgeport jig and the road runner in the front tin pouches.

I keep all the actual plugs in the tubes and I put the krocodiles in the plano box. The plano box also has miscellaneous stuff that I use like snaps and swivels and the like.

The Fin-s and the Sluggos go inbetween the front pouches and the tubes. This is also where I keep my bait knife (cleaned of course) and a spool of 30lb triplefish fluorocarbon. In the side pocket of the bag, I have 30lb monofillament for leaders and a mesh bag for eels.

I clip my emergency knife to a buckle of the bag. It's not too sharp but it has a point incase I got in trouble and had to slice the waders.

I also have about 12 feet of 2,000 lb test rope wrapped around the strap and secured with twist ties from bread bags just in case I want to keep a fish.

2 Gibbs stubbies blk/white with fly or red gill teasers

1 Habs blu/wht 2oz "" ""

1 Habs parott 2oz "" ""

1 Habs pink 3oz "" ""

you got a scanner? SHOW me dat inventory. pleeeese......
Sorry no digital port working on my PC.
My quiver is looking pretty depleted at this point of the year. Lost a favorite torpedo popper last evening due to not replacing last year's leader. Knot held, leader must of been worn. Hoping to replentish this weekend!

Lets see in my LARGE surfcaster bag,

(2) Black/silver 7" Bombers
(2) Pearl 7" Bombers
(1) Pink 7" Bomber
(1) Yellow/white 7" Bomber
(1) Black/purple 6" Bomber
(1) Pearl 6" Bomber
(1) Super Strike Black/purple needlefish
(1) Super Strike white stubby needlefish
(1) Gibbs white stubby needlefish
(1) Habs white stubby needlefish
(1) Habs black stubby needlefish
(1) A bunch of white jigs with curly tails
Eel hooks on snelled on leaders, snaped and swiveled leaders, snaps and other assorted goodies. The other 12 plugs just don't matter.

In my little bag that I use 95% of the time.

(1) Black/silver 7" Bomber
(1) Pearl 7" Bomber
(1) Super Strike Black/purple Needlefish
(1) Habs white stubby Needlefish
(1) Gibbs white stubby Needlefish
(1) Gibbs yellow pencil popper

Eels hooks and more eel hooks, did I mention eels hooks........

If I'm not fishing eels its usually needlefish or Bombers. In my experience you fish one of those three, your covered.

I also have these in my fishing box. My bet on the group above are as follows!
1 5/8 oz Danny Swimmer in a mackeral finish.
1 8" or so, expensive minnow plug made in Finland...casts like crap but can out swim mark spits. (Use only with wind at back or still conditions)
My selection is Jigs with pork rinds.
Later.

I'm with Tattoo. Put it all in the buggy and load the bag when I get there.

In geneal I'll probably carry an assortment such as:

- Gibbs style swimmers (white and yellow)
- Needles (white and black)
- Bombers (chicken scratch, black/silver, all black)
- Darters (white and yellow)
- Bottle poppers (white, yellow, blue)
- Kastmasters and Hopkins
- White and yellow bucktails from 1.5 to 3 oz.

Since I got my hands on them this year whenever it's dark I use a 4.5oz eel skin jig. Outfish everything else in ditch. Got a 43" and 42" and a buch of others at dusk on canal last week on yellow smilin bill. Still plenty of em' in the ditch slip. Lost one--- huge--- fish last night, about 6 others up to 34". Made the mid twenties from the week before feel very small. Don't want to think about the size

Funny how your plug choices seem to change over the years.

Seasons past I'd use a mac colored bomber and teaser, especially in the early fall. I also used jointed plugs more. And when was the last time you saw someone using a big Atom Jr?

It's fall, and it's Long Island. I usually carry 4 varieties of plugs in the bag, in various colors---darters, bottle plugs (2 oz most of the time unless there's a big heave when I'll go up to 3 oz), needlefish (Habs and Superstrike in various sizes) and some plastic swimmers---mostly Mega baits and Bombers.

I carry various jig/plastic and bucktalis in a Plano box. Fits behind the inserts in the bag.

50 yard leader coils of 40# and 50# mono.

Eel hooks and snaps/barrels in a small Plano box--these go in my jacket pocket.

Spare spool and a jar of pork in a side flap pocket on the bag.

Mine fall bag is about the same as Mike P's except add a few poppers and a half dozem fly type teasers. No porkos but I do carry curltails for the jigs. Aslso a couple metal lures like Kastmasters and deadly #^&#^&#^&#^&s.
