Back form Europe, but bastards lost my luggage
Just got back form 3 weeks in europe. Plane got cancelled last thursday, so ended up staying till monday. I get to heathrow in london yesterday, and they cant find my luggage . SO now im back in rhody with out my stuff . Whats the chance that theyll actually find it? If i complain about the lost luggage and the cancelled flight do i have any leverage to maybe get a free ticket back to europe????

If they do find it, check it to make sure nothing is missing (as far as you can tell).
The airline must reimburse you for your lost luggage, but how much is anyone's guess. If it is truly lost, make sure to file a claim stressing that you had some expensive things (like jewelry, camera, watch etc...). I hope that it wasn't stuff that can't be replaced, should the worst case scenario come true.
Good luck.

i've had it lost before.....it goes on the wrong luggage rack
gets on the wrong plane, and then bounces around untill it gets back to square one...
hopefully /usually you'll get a call or they'll deliver it to your door.

They lost mine flying from Iceland to the US and still haven't found it to this day... that was in 1979, no refund - nothing but a "sorry" it'll turn up and we'll send it to you. I'm still holding my breath, not!

generally they deliver it to your door...when it's lost...
have them call you when it's going to be delivered
otherwise you'll be driving to the airport to get it
because you were not home when they tried to deliver it
so they return it to the airport.

My oldest daughter spent last week in Spain for spring break, she flew SwissAir from Boston to Zurich then onto Madrid and same on return trip. No problems at all (she flew back Saturday night).
Her scariest part of the whole trip was the T on Saturday night. All the St. Patty's day revelers were drunk and puking on the train.

Why even try.........

I was back in the states for Thanksgiving a few years ago. Checked out of the hotel at lunchtime and asked them to hold my bag as I went out for a bite with a friend before going to the airport. Get back to the hotel no bag! Wait around and then finally have to go to JFK. International flight, no luggage, post 9/11 you can imagine the questions at the desk. Two days later got a call from the hotel the bag had been placed in the trunk of a car of a family going home to Scranton Pa. People were cool enough to report it and hotel sent a car to get. I picked it up at xmas.
