Shimano 4000 FA

Hi,

Anyone using this reel?
I am looking for a 2nd rod for this reel only and I am wondering if anyone has a favorite.

Thanks in advance.

What model,a Spheros? If so great reel.

Rods?Personal choice. It depends on how much $ you want to spend.

On the under $100 range the Ticas are pretty decent.Mid price I really like the Quarrow rods.High end you have rods like Lamiglas that can run between $200-300+.

basswipe,
Reel is a Spheros.
They are nice. My other saltwater is a Baitrunner 6500B. Great heavyduty reel!
My freshwater is another Shimano, Symetre 2500FI. I threw that on a St. Croix 6'.
Do any of those rods you mentioned have the cork handle?
I should have mentioned that earlier that I want a cork handle.
I am looking to stay around $100.00.

Thanks.

All have the cork handles.

Quarrow rods:
http://quarrow.com/saltwater_specs.htm The Jetty/Surf rods are at the bottom of the page. Not many dealers for these rods, you'll probably have to call to find one.Best rod in its price range IMO.

Another good bet is Tica's UGSA Dolphin series rods. These two would be good for your size reel.Either can be had for around $65-$75.They can be found everywhere, many online dealers too.
UGSA70MH1S 7'0" MH Surf Spin 10 - 25 3/4 - 3 1pc
UGSA80M1S 8'0" M Surf Spin 6 - 17 1/2 - 2 1pc
