Had a popular spot pretty much all to myself at dawn on Sunday. Had a ton of bass including 3 at 30" and 1 at about 29". All fish were crashing topwater plugs. They were hungry, but wanted it slooooow... lots of pausing during the retrieve. Just one of those great days on the sand.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. ~John Buchan

Was down by plum island sat night not even the harbor seals were fishing. Pulled out plenty of sea weed.. If only we caught something could have made sushi

I went out with another member on the board and we did great on saturday. Lots of fish around 28-30 inches.

Another spot we went to was absolutely packed with schoolies. We used the fly rod and had a blast with em!

Next weekend, I'm planning on doing the same thing again...

Shhhhh!!!!!!!

Man, we'll be gettin' followed! Down Boy, down!

I will say this, leave everything else at home except the popping plugs if fishing daylight to dusk and forget pencils, they only wanted one specific bait and if you didn't have one you were seriously bummed.

Amazing how many hits we had never mind the fish landed, all you saw on the end of a three hundred foot cast was in the first ten feet you were either on or your plug got blown completely out of the water. They were right on the edge of the..........

To be continued......

Why even try.........

I got my biggest surf (non-canal) bass on sunday during the downpour in RI. It inhaled a Afterhours squid plug, 42-45 inches and wicked fat. Never seen a fish with that kind of girth. It was a slow pick before the storm blew thru, and during the squall for about a half hour it was nutty with all the fish smackin the plugs, and as soon as the skies cleared the fish were gone.

Everything is better on the rocks.
