Heat bubbles

I built several plugs over the winter and never had a problem with them. I was surprised they even worked. I put several in plug box and left them in my backpack in the sun. When I looked at them last night I noticed bubbles in the all the plugs, even a couple I hadn't used. The rest of the batch in the basement is fine. Could the heat in the box lifted the paint? I used Minwax Wood Hardener, kilz Rattles (Painters Touch) and Poly. Any ideas?

Maybe, but the cedar sat in my furnace room for at least a month. It lifted right to the wood
