Better but fewer

Even though the fish are getting fewer in between they are certainly better quality. Last weekend I got a 22# on the fly rod and last night I got a 35# from the surf in three feet of water. The plug (Blurple Mombo) was jammed top to bottom in the mouth, not one hook in the fish.

Mambo minnows are fishy as hell. They are very productive. Great catch.

That fish sat up head first in the side by side fridge in the garage all night. I had to take out all the shelves, when I took it out this morning it had a little shape to it.

Nice, looks like a trophy fish mount in the second picture

Standing on the water, casting your bread
While the eyes of the idol with the iron head are glowing
Distant ships sailing into the mist
You were born with a snake in both of your fists while a hurricane was blowing

Nice looking fish, now that my projects are done I can get out there more and take a few I hope.

I love catching them that way, when they prop their mouths open with the plug. Makes 'em fight a bit sluggish, as they get filled up with water fast...but still
