Not really any difficulty! I think I like painting and/or wiring them and hooking them up the best!

wiring them seems to be a chore to me, but not difficult at all.
sometimes it's difficult to thru drill when working with stuff like maple
clearcoat that holds up well is difficult for me, spent lots of money on lots of products and not happy with many of them. Epoxy seems to hold up the best if you have the right system for adhesion.
I enjoy the turning on the lathe the best

The Drilling of the Eye holes and thru-hole don't exactly thrill me.
I love painting them though.....trying to make something different

Most difficult is working conditions ,,2 full size lathes , 2 drill presses,,2 bandsaws, powermiter, beltsander, vice, benchgrinder, handtools ,,all in an 8'x8' space..
Most enjoyable is handcarving ,not really caring when its done , listening to tunes.. no noise .

I still like to paint. I still like turning even though it does get a little old from time to time. I love a private kind word about success. Those are the best to me - someone who takes the time privately to say something worked for them.
Wiring - hate it. Larry - you like it? You need to see someone about that .
Not sending slip the lip he needs - that is something else I hate - sorry man - I'll get it together one of these days.

Hate paining, want to smash my Paasche, I'm not good at it no matter how hard I try. I love the testing, even when the plugs end up being duds, Its like gambling without losing money.

don't worry about it, I know you're busy
but you were the one who mentioned you had an extra
I am pretty stupid, I just remembered I still have Chums' and could have got the size off that I still need his address, he hasn't answered my pm.
Maybe Larry enjoys the wiring and rigging because it is the final stage and the plug is done finally.

It's a lot of work. I hate work. Work sucks. Time is money and it takes a lot of time, my time. I have to get really motivated, like for Plugfest or MSBA's plug extravaganza in August. ( can't wait to see Numbskull doing his presentation so I can heckle the sh!t ourt of him)
on the plus side there is the fact that now I fish my own stuff 80% of the time becasue it works.
|
Why even try.........

No - I know what you mean about the final stages. Even though I don't love to clearcoat I always have that little sense of relief when its done because the plug is protected. Clearcoating is the last step in the process where I can still screw things up.

I truly enjoy painting That and putting the lures in front of fish.
I hate wrapping tail loops. Someone should make a haywire twist type thinggie and make like a million dollaz. I cant tell you how many lures I have primed, painted, cleared and wired waiting for tail loops...

Best part = Painting
Worst part= Sanding, followed closely by drilling.

I like the wiring too, me stupid. I hate, and I really only hate one thing the Yan..... never mind , but I hate the epoxy. I never know if it is going to come out good or bad and being the final operation it just plain stinks when you screw it up. I can do without the turning too but that is an occupational thing. Victor send me your plugs and I will trade labor for plugs as i don't mind tail loops at all, like I need more plugs. P.

worse than anything is hangers ... After all the rolling ,,twisting ,,bending,,it don't stick out the belly enough to get a split ring on . So you make another and its a big ,giant catch all loop sticking out of plug belly .. 3 rd time never fails ..

I love it all as long as it dosen't become work. There are times when certain parts aren't going right and I just move on to something else. I think the hardest part is really making something different and unique. The best part is really getting on the water with something hand made and having the fish crush it.

I like all aspects of the build. The part I like most is sharing the hobby with all the builders. Most builders are allot better than I am but they still offer and A OK, when you do a decent job.

I love building when I do everything right ; tend to beat myself up for stupid stuff, especially epoxy errors.....oh well....they're only plugs.
