would this effect dramatically

if you chumed up a pier or jettie when you fish....would you get a big differnce in fish bites?

don't see how it could hurt. I've seen it done at an outflow w/good results.

I would suggest using some sort of chum bag. If you start tossing chum all around, you may just feed the fish to the point where they won't be hungry enough to hit your line.

Yes it will increase your hits. Make sure you are fishing IN THE CHUM .Watch where it drifts and where it is going with the tide and current. Too many guys chum up a spot at their feet and then cast way out while the fish are feeding in close WHERE THE CHUM IS.

thinking of takeing a plastic coffie bucket next time i got to onset pier and drill like a tons o holes soo i can lower it down instead of spending money on a bag even though its not that much.

do you guys just let it sit and drift or do you weight it and have it go to the bottom

The bags onions and garlic comes in is very useful. I usually weigh it and throw as far as I can around structure. Don't forget to tie it, the current can take your bag away and those things aren't really healthy for the fish
