Live TV Coverage Of Firemens Funerals??

Now I know they have done this type of thing before and it always ticks me off!! Why must they show live coverage of something like this?? A. I believe the network is only using it as a vehicle to boost the ratings due to......B. The morbid curiosity of the general public!!! I do not think this is necessary in the least and should remain a respectful observance by those in attendance! No need to televise these sorrowful occasions!

Any thoughts?

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

You could make a good argument that it's impossible for a network to provide tasteful coverage of such an event beyond mentioning that it did indeed happen. This is for profit news for the most part, and all it takes is a splashy breaking news banner with like minded music to spoil the event.

A State funeral might be the exception, but even then it seems dangerously close to "The Ronald Reagan Burial, brought to you by Home Depot"

Granted though, there are events that burden an entire community and the coverage might allow those who can't attend to remember.

Especially the firefighters that had to work and could not attend. Their station had to be manned so someone was unable to attend.
