I talked to him tonight, he's still in the ICU but he sounded a little more positive and it's possible he'll be out of the ICU in a few days.

Just got back from a visit with Steve, he is in much better spirits today and they are moving him out of the ICU and into a normal room...They installed permanent metal type tubes in the veins of his leg to keep them open...They also said he has a blood disorder that keeps his blood clotting...it is genetic, he will be on blood thinners for a long time if not forever and has to be carefull of cuts etc...other than that he thanks everyone for there prayers! and hopefully he will go home in a few more days..

Wow, scary stuff. I used to fish with Steve when we were young surf pups so he is too young for this.

As bizarre as this sounds, leeches have proven valuable in restoring blood flow. Although I sound like Theodoric, Barber of York, I am serious.

Hope to see you in the shop and in the surf soon Steve.
