Very team oriented play with the Celtics, unselfish superstars with some great passing, they've been fun to watch. Opposing defenses have got their hands full.
Having seen very little of KG and Ray Allen, these guys are the real deal. Garnett doesn't slow down from 1st minute to the 60th.
Go Celts!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah Karl they could all use a little Houdini of the Hardwood, B. C., in them.
I heard Max say that. I can't agree with him but it is probably a lot closer than us Bird lovers probably want to admit.

Actually Dr. "J" was probably the 1st one to start palming the ball. He was amazing to watch....I was a young'un but I'm pretty sure that style of play came over from the ABA

west coast will be telling. I don't care if they win everything I just enjoy good competition and it looks like we will get that and actually have a chance to compete with the higher echelon teams and maybe win a few.

Ball carrying, travelling, jeeezzz........you guys. Let me guess, you want to see that hook shot make a comback too. The game has evolved, just like every other sport. I would hate for that drop step to give you old pelicans a stroke.

Evolution does not always mean better. I will take fast break, running, and passing on the run over half court, post up, slow down style any day. Way too much traveling IMO. If you can't get to the basket without traveling than pass the ball . Just my opinion.

I guess it boils down to what type of game you like or grew up with. I guess I am kind of old school. Todays game seems way too much clear out one side, one on one for me. I prefer the team concept. Stutter step is one thing but the blatant out for a stroll, hop, skip, and a jump is too much. I am not knocking your preference I just like mine better.

Pistol Pete, one of the best natural shooters ever. Remember watching him in college. What a talent. Great scene with Red. That fake behind the back pass and keeper lay in was classic. May have been the best all time talent ever. Thanks Karl

great clip. He was before my time, but he was unbelievable. Imagine a college player averaging 44 a game in this day in age...even if they stayed 4 years, never again.

Maravich played before freshmen were eligible to play on the varsity in college, so his scoring record was set in 3 seasons.
Not to take anything away from him, but his head coach at LSU doubled as his father (Press Maravitch), so there was no real danger of him being benched for hogging the ball and taking dumb shots

The Celts have had 4 championship teams. Two , the Russel and Bird teams , were great. The other two , the Cowens teams and the current team did it with hard work. Hard to not love those teams with Bird but my favorite was the super hard working Cowens teams from the mid and late sventies.

Oh yeah , forgot about the Maravich comments. The most amazing thing about Maravich was discovered after he died at a young age. The autopsy showed that one chamber of his heat was missing or non functioning. Imagine palying professional sports with a missing heart chamber!
Maravich was no way the most talented ball player. Guys like Russel , chamberlain , Bird , Johnson , those were great players. One strange one was Bill Walton. had he remained sound physically , I think he would have been considered the most talented of all time. Unfortunately , he had one healthy season as a pro player. he was fortuanet to end his carreer in Boston who for decades had had the strategy that the team would keep you in the game and a star like walton only needed to be unstoppable for the last 60 seconds when everything was on the line. In the end , Walton could not play a whole game but for the last minute , he was a defensive players worst nightmare.
