Photographing Lures

I was shooting some pictures of lures for my website and I realized something that might be of use...
I always wished I could see more of a plug than you can in most shots - without resorting to multiple shots. Plug pictures often look a little two dimensional.
Today, I was taking pictures of some Tattoo's 2-up and I was getting a reflection, so I decided to flip one upsidedown, so the dark from the top of one plug was not reflecting into the white bottom of the one above it. So one plug was upsidedown, one was rightside up.
When I went to get them ready for loading into the store, I noticed that the diver I shot upside looked a lot more three dimensional than the ones I had shot straight on..check it out....first one shot as previous...

Menhaden Diver - positioned normally - note that you can't see any of the color change on the top of the plug or the slope.

A Zuri pattern diver, positioned upsidedown for the photo...Notice how you can see the top and the slope...pretty cool...

Second pic looks cooler but First pic tells me what I want to know . First pic shows me the transtion from the slope to the round ,, he did a nice job on that .. I dislike (unatural profile) the sharp point on top of some slope heads where it transitions to round .. Knocking off CCB 7400 surfters and Larry Welcome bottle darters taught me that .. Nice plug ..
