Donations for The Fishing Academy
What's up guys? I asked John if could post this on the site and he gave me the thumbs up. I looking to put together a plug bag to raffle off at the Rissa Show and was wondering if any of you would like to donate some plugs for it. For those not familiar with the Fishing Academy we are a non-profit organization geared to taking kids off the streets and out on the water. Last year alone we took close to 700 kids out and every year we are reaching more inner city youth. We are a 501c3 excempt non-profit so I can give you the proper paper work if you would like to wright off lure donation. Check out the fishing academy at www.thefishingacademy.org Please pm me if you have any questions or would like to donate an item.
Thank You,
Roy Leyva

Thanks....I can always use stuff for the kids as well. Seconds or plugs with finishes that just didn't come out right are always good for that. They loose a lot of gear. Most of the time mine.....Which get's expensive..lol, but It's all worth it in the end.
Thanks again,
Roy

Thank you guys......Any time is fine even at the rissa show, I would like it before the show begins, but not a problem if after the raffle winner won't be picked until the end of the day April 6th. So, thanks again guys. This means alot to me.

A lot of guys on the site donated to the Fishing Academy Raffle via RoyL. I was at the show on Sunday and asked how the raffle was going. Roy told me it was a bit slow and I bought some tickets. I had some budget for a few plugs but BigFish was out of "Prey" and CMS did not have the Beachmaster that I was looking for. I ended up buyiung more tickets to this great Raffle.
I love the Fishing Academy as the office is in the part of Boston I grew up in and they target kids who grew up like me. I was going to be at the show for the end so I went and purchased another batch of tickets just before the drawing.
Jay Baver mixed up the jar of tickets and a little girl from the crowd pulled a ticket....MY TICKET!!!!!!!!.....WOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
After a few pictures etc, I thanked the girl and asked if she likes to fish, she said "no but my uncle does" so I handed her a Gag's Flippin Mullet and told her to give it to her Uncle because she was great.
I then took the Aquaskinz Small Plug Bag (there was a "Small Tall" and a "Small")and filled it with some plugs & items I did not want or was willing to spare. In all I donated back a plug bag filled and told Roy and John to go raffle or auction it off somewhere to make even more money for the kids. Just the right thing to do.
This was a Sick Prize PKG...AWESOME...Thanks to all that supported the raffle....her are the contents of the winnings:

First I want to thank everyone that donated to this generous raffle. This was by far the most we have ever raised in a raffle and the money will go help us reach more kids this up coming summer. I had a feeling that most of you in the surf fishing community would be glad to help...and thank you for that. I also want to congratulate Patrick for winning one hell of a package and donating some of it right back to us for a future raffle. I don't think most people would have done the same. Hopefully next years raffle will be even better. Thank you to all, you guys rock!!!
