Question PENN RODS?? ANY GOOD??

CURIOUS if you guys think penn makes any decent high end saltwater rods for both surf and inshore/cove/river mouth. buddy gets a great discount on them... need a couple of spinners 1/2-1 1/2 , 1-3 2-8, also perhaps a small plastic/plug/ and larger big plug/eel/livebait/big chunk conventional rods.

i am used to loomis surf rod quality/performance, but would take a 30% reduction for a great price and a larger arsenal of rods...

thanks in advance for assistance!

I had a 9' guide series and it seemed like a good rod... but no G. Loomis.

The pro guide surf rods are real nice, I don't think I'd call them high-end, they only sell for around a $100, but they're good blanks with nice Fuji hardware and they fish well. I've got a 9' 1-4 and a 10' 2-8, both conventional, and I love them. They're all two-piece, 60/40, rods. Penn doesn't make any high-end rods really, but they do make a lot of high-end reels.

Just like most of the major manufacturers they have some great ones and some others that I wouldn't give a dollar for a pickup truck full of them. The Internationals are excellent and reasonable. Wado I no!?!?

Catch'em up,

I have 10 of the international rods that I use for offshore and love them.
