Fishing Report for P-town

Hey everyone I was wondering if anybody has fished up in Race Point beach or in the P-town area recently and if the fish are biting up there yet (Stripers)?? I would like to go up there for fathers day just want to make sure that its going to be worth the drive.

There are fish here, but this week it's been spotty. I have personall seen fish to keeper size caught bayside with Kastmasters. I have heard rerports of nice fish from boats and the back beaches. By next weekend I have high hopes of even nicer and more plentiful fish.

the fish have been here for a month, as Jake says spotty and a little work.

Just came back, was there Thurs morning through Sun morning. Race North & South totally closed Friday night for plovers, only Coast Guard is open.

Water temps are COLD...can't help but think that is keeping a lid on the fishing a little bit. But maybe it has warmed up a bit over the last few days since I left with all the hot weather.

We worked hard the entire and got a few fish, mostly schoolies. Best fish in our group (6 guys) was only 22 pounds.....not nearly as good as we did the same week last year. There were not a lot of people catching, we were doing better than anyone else I talked to.

There was lots of weed (not mung) in the water. We fish a lot of plugs so it was a problem.

On the bright side, didn't see as many seals this trips as the in the last couple of years, but I suppose they would have been around if we were catching more fish.

Thats all I've got.
