Talking Hull & Cohasset From Shore

Hey Guys,

I have been creeping around this website for the last few weeks and absolutely love it! There are some great discussions going on here.

Is anyone here familiar with the Cohasset and Hull shore area? I have been scouting out a few spots from shore recently that look phenominal and without giving up any secret spots, was hoping the area's expert might answer a few questions I have. Feel free to pm me. Some good advice might even get you a pint of Gunnyrock Light!!

Thanks Guys,

Bob

When it comes to actual locations, people would rather give up their children and certainly won't reveal their secret spots in an open forum. Good luck, it looks sweet up there..

I don't think you will find too much access from shore, but if you can get your hands on a boat .... let's just say that I have had some fantastic days not 100 yards from the beach!!

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day ...
show him where to fish and ... you'll be sorry

Hull access is tough ,unless your fishing the gut .... I wish I had a nickel for every "No Parking" sign on the bay side .. Cohasset is impossible.. If you pull over in Cohasset ,You'll meet Mr. Policeman in about 5 minutes .. Amazing .. This system was set up years ago , not against fishers , but to keep Hull men away from thier women .. makes sense .. No one will hand you a spot because of limited parking .

I will tell you what Mayday.. As a long time hunter and fisher I learned many years ago that the best way to access a new spot is to ASK a homeowner. Find a spot that you thinks looks right and just ask for an OK to park. You may get 9 out of 10 thumbs down but it's worth it. Don't forget to offer them a nice fresh bass filet (yes, it is OK to keep them sometimes)
Ditto on being careful in Cohasset!! They will ticket or tow you b4 your engine cools down. If you want some good spots to fish you have to work it a bit and hopefully you recieved a couple of PM's to help you out. You too can rule your own "secret spot"

Drop me a line and I can share a little bit. We need all the people fishing that we can get. With numbers comes power.

I'm fortunate to have a good friend who lives in Hull close to Cohasset...I was thinking of using my canal bike to gain access to Cohasset . I know there's a $3.00 lot in Hull you could do the same thing ..

Asking for the specifice spot info will not result truth...as others has said, very sensative area.

Hint...search this subject on this site. Read and remember what you see. Take that info and pay attention when in the area. Learn to read between the lines. There is info in previousl threads but it is not blatant. You do the work, you will get hints and then common sense application will result in eventual answers.

Hull, Co@sshat, and sheetuate, are parking nazi's. If you're not a resident you're almost guarenteed to get a parking ticket. As far as access, sometimes I have to tresspass to get to those sweetspots.

I actually had some luck a few years ago at the rip in front of the high school. It's a textbook location, decent parking too. I haven't been there recently; supposed to be pretty decent at night.

the rip is good spot. It can get crowded. And if its a Fri. or Sat. nite you will have company into the wee hours.

Memo to Bxbomber:

Sorry guy, this spot was burned a long time ago; it's a well known public access location. The general rules are that well known places like Plum Island, Hull Gut, and the Canal are fair game; you're not writing anything that people don't already know. The smaller, more private spots (some of which I know but won't mention) cannot be discussed.

I fish Cohassett a lot and with it comes a price. The price is (if ticketed) $25.00
There aere some key spots but you do have to be carful. I do have my favorite spot there but again once somthing gets out places get over fished and the one spot I do park at will be gone.
