only one fish away from the mini slam on my blue head spook.. Caught my first bluefish this season last night. It was awesome, the thing jumped like a tarpon and nailed it. What a cool sight and great feeling. All i need is a tuna on it and I'll have keeper bass, bluefish, and tuna all on the same plug. Anyone wanna take me tuna fishing?

Photo contest for a free plug?
Slingah put me on to a photo contest whereby I might win a free plug; but he suggested I may already have enuf.
Is it possible to have enuf plugs? What makes ya think I have enuf plugs?

Nope, they'll actually hit them pretty well How about a Redeye (I think you call them Rock Bass up that way) on a pencil:
Or a Mud-marlin on a topwater prop bait

The fact that you'd trade them all in a second for another eel trap and lifetime supply of horseshoe crabs, maybe?

Caught on one of my own plugs, it was a diving danny, blue/ white dip I made over the winter. 40" fish about 24lbs. felt good to finally catch something bigger than the 16" fish that the river is full of!

Great job. Like your boat. Excuse me for being a slacker and will get you the things I promised this Spring this off season if that is ok. Any extra time I have now, which is little, I have to fish. Hope you understand.

Paul, thanks for the compliments, It is a 20' lund alaskan w/ a 50hp honda (it is very frugal on fuel) an awesome striper machine. I totally understand, so many fish, such little time.

That is a skinny danny (though really more of a donny shape). Been a good plug for me and a few others. AYC, Lefty 2 mid slot, and the weight a little aft of center. About 3oz. Casts well, swims at very slow retrieves, rolls a ton (it actually will do barrel rolls with a sharp twitch). You can't pop it. Stays barely subsurface and doesn't leave much wake. I'd expect it to suck, but it has become one of my most productive plugs. Go figure. Here is a close up with a fish a lurker named Earlybird took. As an aside, the conrad jr's have proven to be very useful as well, particularly off jetties.

indeed. i always fished swimmers that swam on top at night, then went to a McKenna presentation where he talked alot about keeping your presentation subsurface, even if only an inch or two. I tried it and my results improved, especially in terms of size. Now the problem is finding good subsurface swimmers. Juniors and loaded redfins are my favorites so far, with the exception of conrads in deep enough water.

Slow where I was today. Worked hard for this one. My oldest son home for the summer, just getting into fishing (now that soccer, girls, college, drinking and job are all covered). Took a Jigman-copy spook. Sweet plug.

Excellent fish and plug. I got one but have not been lucky enough to catch with it yet. My Howdy copies have been too productive most mornings to change to something else but i know it will catch by the action it has and the accolades it has gotten.

Stop that silly talk .. Stripers love that plug .. Plain and simple one of the best striper catching plugs there is .. both the large and the small .. Can't praise you enough for coming up with that (long casting., fish catching ) design..
Met a fishing bud early this am ,, loving that black bomber ..
