Songs from the Suds

mirrors on the ceiling-
live eels on ice
We are all just prisoners here -
of our own device

The Eagles no?

...more you say?

still by the firelight
and purple moonlight
I hear the rusted river's call

Pull a keeper from the surf
when I fish down South and say
YEAH THAT HOOK WENT RIGHT IN YA MOUTH
...cause I wanna be a Cowboy baby
Ridin at night cause I sleep all day
Cowboy baby
I can smell a fish from a mile away-

...You'll be out fishing at 2am and this will be stuck in your head.
No need to thank me its a gift.

still by the firelight
and purple moonlight
I hear the rusted river's call

"More and more miles from shore every year
Since they told me I can't sell no stripers
And there's no luck in swordfishing here"

"When he was young youd not find him doing well in school,
His mind would turn unto the waters.
Always the focus of adolescent ridicule,
He has no time for farmers daughters.
Alienated from the clique society,
A lonely boy finds peace in fishing."

"When supper time came the old cook came on deck
Saying fellows it's too rough to feed ya
At 7PM a main hatchway caved in
He said fellas it's been good to know ya."

"In a place you only dream of
Where your soul is always free
Silver stages, golden curtains
Filled my head, plain as can be
As a rainbow grew round the sun
All the stars I've love who died
Came from somewhere beyond the scene you see
These lovely people played just for me
Now if I let you see this place
Where stories all ring true
Will you let me past your face
To see what's really you"

"See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the Bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light
And see the bird with a leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colors came out"

How do I not end with this one:

"And there's a girl, in this harbor town
And she works, laying whiskey down
They say "Brandy, fetch another round"
She serves them whiskey and wine"

Couldn't end with that one, had to throw the ACE

"Baby your a big blue whale
Grab the reef when all duck diving fails
I swim but I wish I've never learned
The water's too polluted with germs
I dive deep when it's ten feet overhead
Grab the reef underneath my bed
It's underneath my bed
Ain't got no quarrels with God Ain't got no time to grow old
Lord knows I'm weak
Won't somebody get me off of this reef"

Don't ask me I don't give a damn
The next stop is in Chat-ham
It's five, six, seven we're casting out some pearly baits
There ain't no time to make a wish. Yippie.
We're all into fish.

Ok to the melody of Bryan Adam's "Summer of 69"

I got my first real surf rod
M&D's said it'd work fine
casted braid till my finger bled
was the fall run of 99

me and some guys from S-B
hit the rocks and we tried real hard
caught some fish, nailed some real cows
didn't even have to drive that far

and when I look back now
that fall run seem to last forever
and if I had the choice
I would caught a 50 there
those were the best days of my life!!!

oh yeah! in the fall run of 99!

A 311 favorite of mine. "

Do you right"

"Passin' the kind buds.
Kickin' back in the sand in the sun.
To be alive is lovin'.
Where the shore meets the sea.
Man I'm hummin' I'm hummin

I'm free as I stare at the sea.
And I'm not comin' down.
The world is yours once you have found.
The good is to share.
Which is elsewhere."

"You should have been here yesterday"

Everybody here is outa sight
the eels may squirm but they dont bite
and they dont die cause their on ice
Everybody was dancin in the moonlight-

Dancin in the moonlight-
in my waders reelin slow thats right
its such a fine and natural sight
everybody was dancin in the moonlight

We put them on most every night -
you cant sling eels and stay uptight
Its supernatural delight
Everybody dancin in the moonlight

still by the firelight
and purple moonlight
I hear the rusted river's call

Wink

All our times have come
Here but now they're gone
Seasons don't fear the Keeper
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain (We can be like they are)

Come on baby (Don't fear the Keeper)
Baby take my plug (Don't fear the Keeper)
or take my fly (Don't fear the Keeper)
Baby, I'm a fisherman

La la la, la la
La la la, la la

Valentines day is done
Here but now they're gone
Until the Spring
It seems like an eternity
Forty fifty sixtys caught every day
Forty thousand fish will be caught every day
Another forty thousand coming every day

Come on baby (Don't fear the Keeper)
Baby take my Jig (Don't fear the Keeper)
or take my fly (Don't fear the Keeper)
Baby, I'm a fisherman

La la la, la la
La la la, la la
