I don't want to ruin the surprise so will wait until after Sat night to post pics.

He should be able to pull the drain plug out of the canal with that rod.

didn't specialist catch his fish on a 1209
if so, i believe that the rod should go to someone who does not already have a 1209...like me, for instance...

I believe his fish was 36 pounds. Maybe Specialist can tell us for sure the length and weight.

Fishing winner disqualified after failing lie detector test
Organisers of a fishing competition in southern rhode island have disqualified the winner for failing a lie detector test.
john r says the 40-pound striped bass he caught during the year long Bass Festival is legitimate.
It's the first time organisers have used the test. He's hired a lawyer mr saltheart esq to appeal the decision.
The first prize is a fishing pole worth its weight in gold
"It's upsetting, especially when you're not a cheat or liar," john r" says.
His friend, CLAMDIGGER who witnessed him landing the fish, says he can't believe the decision.
"I know what I saw and in my mind he won the derby and should have won the rod" he says.
"I don't know how accurate lie-detector tests are. They're not admissible in court. The guy's under a lot of pressure. He's a nervous wreck as it is. He shakes when he drinks coffee," he adds.
rhode island Chamber of Commerce executive director don blizard says: "We wanted honesty and integrity in our events. We wanted to ensure there weren't big fish tales going on.
"This year we decided to get really serious. With the value of the rod, we had decided in advance that we were going to use it no matter what."
Mr john r" lawyer, mr bloocrab esq of massachusetts, told the salt water organisers haven't said which questions he failed on the lie detector test.

Saltheart thanks for your genourosity. This will make my 3rd Saltheart custom. J. Powers you are correct he does beautiful work.
The fish weighed 35lbs about 8 hours after I caught it. It was around 37.5lbs when caught. It was 46.5" in length , and my largest to date.

A fish like that , caught in the Canal current , is probably harder to land than a 50 or 60 from a normal beach. Great catch!

Thanks Salheart, I only was wishing at the time that someone with more experience was next to me. It would have helped to calm me down, I was so excited. When that fish sounded, I could'nt budge her off the bottom, I got nervouse and thought for sure I was gonna lose her. I had to strum the line three or four differant times to make headway on her. It took about 25 minutes or so to land her. I will never forget that one, that is for sure.
Todd I needed a spinner so I could get the distance that JP, Slip, and yourself attain. Until I get a lot better with the conventional. I already had an offer on the conventional, however I am determined to become and expert caster with it. Besides it was my first custom rod and it has too much sentimental value.

Sweet fish indend and I was happy to not only supply the 13 inch rubber, but be there to see your prize. Nothing like getting a few large under your belt to turn you into a really sick man, trust me I know.
