This was a first

Fishing in the boat late Saturday night with live eels. I felt a small hit and then some light wiggling. I figured I hooked a schoolie. Turn on my light and saw a 4ft eel on the end of my line. Caught an eel on an eel. Weird. I am guessing it was a conger?

You're a freak Jim.....

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind

Yes.
Congor.
Good eating. If your Italian, it is a Christmas delicacy.

You on the phone and Steve Mc getting me eels, I figured I had lots of mojo. Other than the eel, only got one small bass @ 8lbs. Packed it in around midnight.

when i was a teen growing up on the beach...
i would often go to our jetty and shine a flashlight down into the water at high tide to see what fish were around... well one night lookin for crabs and whatever... i see this gigantic eel just swaying back and forth...this thing was almost six feet long...ok...so i run back to the shed and grab the big net and run back....
i get half of the eel in the net...twice...first the head end and the second time the tail end but couldn't seem to scoop it up because it was so large.... eventually it got woke up a bit.... and slowly swam away.....
~
nice catch on an eel with an eel....
