I have been surf casting for about a year and a half. I also just landed a personal best. 41.5 inches and 25 pounds.
It took a chicken scratch Redfin, pulled some drag and I thought I lost my plug. I pinched my line and started reeling until my line pulled taught and I realized this fish ran straight at me anf was just about on the beach.
Both split rings on my Redfin pulled straight as I got her on the beach so I had to tackle it in the wash to get her in. This with my buddy watching thinking I am nuts. The worst part was walking the mile back to the car with EVERYONE staring at me and asking me where,when, on what and ever other question under the sun.
