Salty-D - Count me in for a flyswap, assuming you all can accommodate my timeline... I'm off for a couple of weeks after St. Paddy's Day (March 17th), therefore I'll need to know how many I'm tying for long before then. Also, I don't know the rules... an you help me out? Pg

Hey Irish,
I saw you asked about how the swap works.... It's pretty easy. You tie up enough flies for each person, so if there ends up being six, you tie up six flies and send them in (usually you donate one to the swapmaster, don't have to but its a nice gesture). When you send the flies in, send along a self addressed and stamped envelope so they can be returned to you. I think that's about it......
Oh are we doing mystery flies this year too?

When do we determine how many (who's In)?
Cut-off date for head count?
What is the address to send them to?
Any money with the flys to cover postage?
Thanks!

Hey Scout,
We should determine soon.....but it's up to the swapmaster. I'd say we should get at least 6. Depending on what everyone wants to do, we could do 2 flies per head to make it a dozen.
When you go to the postoffice to send your flies, get another envelope and have it stamped there with proper postage. The swapmaster will pm you his address.
Salty, if you don't want to, I'd be happy to be the swapmaster again this year, but that's totally up to you. Thanks for participating guys, these can be fun and it's a good way to add a selection to your fly box.
- Billy

Billy remember what happened last year.i prepaid with the p.o. scale postage and they wouldn't take it on the return when the flys were coming back to me.What you should do, is to p.o. scale the "to" package and see what that costs and then place regular stamps on the return package that adds up to the same and put it in the "to" package and seal.Remember your're dealing with the government.

Guys - thanks for clearing up the details.. One last question: Are we supposed to state what we're tying? I haven't decided... I was thinking about dome sort of shrimp pattern if that works for folks..
PS - I like the new format...

Patterns
Guys,
Everyone ties one pattern, each tier ties a different pattern. So for example if I tie gurglers, I'll tie all 12 of them and send them in. Everyone picks their patterns before hand. So what will everyone be tying?
