Florida Redfish
I just returned from a trip to Florida and had some luck fishing Mosquito Lagoon in the shadow of the Kennedy Space center.I had a guide named Troy Perez who was as proffessional and qualified as they come. He told me to look for a show coming up with George Poveromo fishing the same area. Great trip with some longtime friends. In all we brought six fish to the boat on light tackle with an average size of 25#. We fished every day and I managed to get into jacks, trout, bass and more.

Very nice.
Obviously a guide is the way to go, but for those who might contemplate doing it themselves on foot or by kayak, there is an outstanding book (it has to be the best spot-burning book ever) called "Fishing Florida's Space Coast" by Capt John Kumiski. All USGS aerial photos and commentary/advice for every inch of it.

Nice Fish! I'm doing Thanksgiving in FL this year with my wife and kids. We're getting away from NE for change in tradition. Not sure where yet but my wife knows to look for a spot with good inshore options.

Awesome trip. I was down in Key West a few weeks ago. Had a fly rod and spinning set up. We caught tons of stuff right from the dock...red snapper, grey snapper, jacks....but thge best part is we got into some tarpon at night. Also went on a flatboat guided trip and had a blast in the back country mangroves. Mike Icanelli, the bass pro, had a cool show on this weekend (City limits fishing) where he fished within sight of Miami and caught 7 different species, including a huge permit on a shrimp jig.
