t shirts , etc
i was just reading the t shirt thread nightfighter bumped up. I'd like a t shirt but I don't see where it would help us ID each other on the water. Even in the hot summer , I wear something ever my t shirt. If you don't , the skeeters eat you alive. anyway , the point is , you can't see the T shirt while people are fishing.
What about some patches we could put on a hat or on a plug bag or wherever we want/
Do people like the idea of patches?
If people like the idea , I'm sure we can get them and they will probably be less money than shirts and hats.

Patches are good, Bumperstickers are good......I have one on my bait bucket....oops, that ain't gonna help you exclusive plugging/eeling guys... , but you get my drift.
John....the T-shirt source I mentioned is a no go, but if ya decide on bumperstickers, I got a different one, and he may be able to do some kind of patch as well.......

Well... Bumper stickers sound like a good idea but, when I get tired and sit down, no one would see it!
Seriously, I like the idea of a patch - althought I would order a shirt as well.
Oh yeah... one more thing on the bumper sticker... I don't usually take my car when I go in wading. just kiddin'!

With a patch , you could sew it onto the hood of your own sweatshirt or jacket or plug bag. Heck , you could pierce you nose with a safety pin and hang it from your nostrils!

what about having a S-B pin? I'm sure some of you guys have seen them at some of the fishing expos this winter. Like the patch, you could stick it alot of places....hat....wader strap.....jacket or plug bag....hey, you could even stick it up.....wait a minute, the sun dosn't shine there.
The only downside is its so small people would have to look hard to find it.

I still have a solid connection to be able to do embriodered Tee Shirts, Hats, Jackets, Sportswear,Rain Gear, Sweatshirts... you name it!!!
These can also include your names with the logo!
And
No Min Qty will be necessary to initiate this process...
However, there is a one time fee for scanning the SB logo in two sizes...
Aprox 325.00 for a large image for jackets, & 150.00 aprox or so, for a smaller image...
Once scanned, the larger logo will require aprox 45,000 stitches to turn out one amazing embriodery design... which can even include metallic thread!
Once these images are scanned, they become John's property to be used to embroider just about anything...
I spoke with John on this before, but he wants to complete the screening project for the "Game Over" shirts before considering
SB embriodery products.
How many would be willing to pitch in for the image scans when the time is right?
It would be a very minimal cost if we got enough who are willing to chip in toward making the products available...
Please feel free to chime in on this, and perhaps John can consider the options?
Tell me what you think?...
The possibility exists, that John can get pricing that is so good, that SB would receive $ from each purchase toward support of the site while offering produts that are of superior quality at discount prices!
The site could even be set up with an electronic ordering form
which the embrioderer would be willing to help set up which would fund the SB site for each purchase made for logo products...
However... all of this is up to John.
I thought that this would be a great sponsor for the site...
Your thoughts?...

If John approves this... GREAT!
I'm sure that he thinks I'm a pain in the butt already for trying to help out, because it commits him to more projects
Sorry John...

I think some SB merchandise would be great - I'm partial to the sticker idea (one for my car, one for the transom of my boat).
You may want to consider cafepress.com - I've used it in the past and have always been very satisfied. Its an online system that allows you to put your logo on tons of items - and it creates an online store for you. They handle all the transactions, ship the products etc. John could set the prices so that he makes a little to help cover the costs of his hard work on this site. The 1000+ members of SB could shop there and buy whichever products we want (they have everything from fleece pullovers, to coffee mugs, t-shirts, frisbees, decals, etc.)
The benefit of cafe press is that there are no minimums and no costs to set up the shop. So if i'm the only guy who wants an SB coffee mug - no problem they make just one. Plus the administrator can set the prices to whatever he wants
The downside is that the prices are higher than we'd pay if we made 200 T shirts at once.
If we have a design all done and you want help setting up the store - i'd be happy to do so.

Maybe I didn't word it correctly but let me take another shot at what my point is.
I don't buy fishing gear cause it has someones logo on it. I buy a sweatshirt cause its warm. My last 2 hooded sweatshirts were purchased about 4 years ago. They were $45 each. They are very heavy , warm and durable. I had to drive to Maine to get what I wanted but that's OK cause a good one lasts for years. I would like to put a S-B logo on a good hooded sweatshirt like that. Logo makers aren't going to stock $45 sweatshirts so they can sell a $5 logo.
The same goes for my canal jig bag. That isn't all that expensive but I shopped for a couple years to find one that was "just right" to replace my old bag which was over ten years old and tearing up. . I expect the new bag to last ten years too. No logo guy is gonna stock 50 different bags so there is one just right for a Canal Jig bag! The only way I can get a logo on the bag I want is to have a logo I can put on myself. The patch is just a way of doing that. Stickers would work but I don't think a sticker would last 3 weeks on my jig bag. A patch would last ten years.
Anyway , the point is , I'm looking for a way to get an S-B logo that I can put on "top of the line" fishing clothing and gear. I'm not looking for a shirt , I'm looking for a logo I can put on the shirt I determine is best for fishing in.
Sure , I'll buy a T shirt cause I like the logo but it will be worn to a S-B "Too cold to Fish" gathering. If I do wear it fishing , it will be a layer or two down where it can't be seen. On the water , I'm dressed to fish and couldn't care less about a clever logo. I just want something I can put on better gear to let people know I'm an S-B guy and they should stop and say hello. To me , that's the value in having an S-B logo on your sweatshirt or bag or hat , etc.
Does that make sense?

Sure does make sense!
But Mike, the connection I have does top of the line gear from several Garment manufacturers Like Outer Banks, Columbia, Champion... Charles River... etc...
The Logo scan allows fir him to embroider just about anything!
We may be able to provide garment for a fee to embrioder as well...

Why don't we just have a secret handshake or something...
Seriously John, if you ever do something like this, I was only half joking in the one thread about t-shirt designs. I have several ideas beyond just stripers. I like buying t-shirts for the fishy designs and most out there suck.. .either too gaudy, too busy, or have the wrong fish on 'em.

Guys - I'm just completely straight out right now and won't be able to look anything for a few weeks at the earliest.
I realize that I keep delaying this topic of S-B shirts & hats, & all other S-B merchandise but I'm so straight out that I have not been able to finish the site updates, schedule the reel party, clean my own gear (yeh, most of my gear is still NOT ready for this year) - just straight out. I promise I will look more into this as time permits.
Don - not a pain at all. I just feel guilty that I have not been able pursue any of this stuff yet and that I keep pushing this topic back. I'm just trying to prioritize my time...
That Cafepress bit is interesting though...
