Not a Bass but got this nice Carp this afternoon after work....Figure I'd share. She went back in and swam away after her Photo Op...That's a size 11 for comparison

nice one! brings back memories of a carp we named "walter" (guess how it got that name?) it was in a tiny little drainage pond. a pond that couldnt have been any bigger than half a football field. filled with little carp and bluegills. however every now and then this massive white and black creature would emerge from the depths and slowly make it ways around the pond. was at least 3 ft long. i tried for years to get a nibble from that thing. never happened. wonder if he's still there.. i doubt it though.

Nice carp DF.
Here's a shot of my brother BrianL with a nice fish taken Sunday am on a big 8" spro swimbait. This fish hammered the thing. We had a bunch of 3-6# fish.

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind

Reminds me of when I was a kid (and didn't know any better) and my friend and I carried a bout a hald dozen carp (4"-6") we had gotten from the "pond" up at Larz Anderson park in Brookline down to Jamaica Pond. We didn't know there were rules against doing so, so we let them go there.
Now flash forward about 10 years... I was out fishing with my dad, and what do I see floundering around (alone) near the surface, but a really fat (spawning) goldfish.
Now flash forward ANOTHER 10 years or do, and I was fishing on the wall in front of the bandstand, next to the docks, and what do I see cruise by but a 4 foot white carp.
Either someone else had dropped some in there, or the ones I dropped in had survived over the tears. I would assume that with the stocked trout, bass and birds this pond sees in a year that any fry would probably be picked off quicker that you can imagine.
Fortunately, I never made a habit of "illegal stocking", but seeing those fish after so many years made me realize what could have happened.

That's a nice fish! I got the carp skunk the other day. What a tease to see 20+ fish swimming around and to not get a bite. Next time I'm going to do some serious chumming. Was using dough balls of corn meal, flour, water. Guy next to me was using wonderbread he got the skunk too.

QUOTE from NUMBSKULL TODAY: Took a few fish this am up to @ 28" (almost anyways) along an open lower Bz Bay beach.......not somewhere winter-overs show or migrant fish hold for long.....so I think the chance of fish entering the canal, at least in small numbers, this weekend is realistic.
I'm outta here for another week in Lake "O" because I think I can come back with another freshwater fish bigger than what Numbskull will have with stripes when I get back. And, no seals up there...
This is a 28.5" 9-2 brownie I took on the first shift up there. NUMBY better go over 15 lbs. to win this one over the next week.

Nice fish dudes.
Here's one of my old man and a nice pickerel he got yesterday. I got one a lil bigger with a gnarly scar on it that looked pretty fresh. I would like to know what was going after a 5lb plus pickerel.
