Black Hull Charters groundfish report

Got the boat hauled and launched last Sat, fueled up and Leo, Max and myself took it for a shakedown /scouting run in some pretty crappy conditions.
Sunday's forecast was calling for a cold front coming for sunday afternoon with 30kn conditions.
I got on the phone with my client and made him aware of the weather forecast and suggested to reschedule.
But he had friends and relatives up from Conn. already and he assured me they were all up for it even if we had to cut the day short.
The cold front never materialized and it was like glass all day (actually too calm for a good drift)
We stayed most of the day in the deeper water on the east side and did haddock most of they day with everyone getting enough fish to keep Max filleting during the ride in.
Yesterday we had a great group of 6 guys all from Worcester who were raring to go @ 4:00am and couldn't wait to catch fish!
Other than finding a coffee shop open that early ! what a great day !
Started out looking for the cod and once on the grounds the cod kept coming over the rail and a very good pace with a decent ratio of keepers to shorts ( other than 1 guy who was a big fresh water angler who kept getting shorts all day)
About 12 noon with slack approaching I decided to make a run east about 6-7 miles to some numbers I had not hit in a few years.
Once we got the spot at 1st drop the guys were on, with good haddock being caught, mixed in with come cusk and a few conga eel.
The guy who kept getting the shorts all day gets hooked up to a very good fish, when he finally brings it up and we have color the guy is ecstatic as I sink the gaff into a very nice wolffish (he tells me it's 1 of the few fish he's never caught after trying for years) ends up winning the pool for him.
Once again Max stayed busy filleting during the ride in !
The guys booked bass trips for later in the year.
Today had to take the day off with youngest son making his 1st communion.
I'm waiting on emails with pics that were taken and will post them later.
