Nice artical. It's just about 3 years outdated. When water and ethanol mix, it is not possible to seperate them. What ends up in the filter that looks like chicken noodle soup W/O noodles is the same as in your tank. It doesnt seperate out. Some of those boston whaler guys over a that site have there head up their a$$.

True, it is outdated, but i think the article is main pupose is rating the performance of various filters.
I didn't know the marpac filters I use are not that great, I'm gonna switch after reading that article.

Gary I think that is the problem I'm having with my boat so your saying that the 2 wont seperate and I have to keep replacing filters or drain my fuel tank?

If the fuel gets too much water in it, it is unusable. There are "supposedly" some products that can reverse it, but don't believe everything you read.
If this is happening to your boat you gotta find out how the water is getting in before you have to replace more than just a filter.
