the weather does not feel like summer but

the fishing is starting to feel like it , bluefish out deep , dogfish in close bait getting scarce

I'm not sure I would agree with you !
If you know where to look there are still lots of bait & bass around !
We had charters yesterday morning, all the bait we wanted and a dozen keeper size bass up to 31lbs size, and I did get one 9lb bluefish.

I wouldn't say that. I've been snagging pogies and pulling in bass.
