Good Ole Gloucester

It was a great morning to be fishing off of Gloucester, Mass. today, calm winds, gentle seas and bright sunshine. Mac's were few and far between, had to buy some eels to get by the morning. Tried to jig a few extra mackerel while anchored with no success and decided to jig the bottom. That was a mistake, jigged my first Dog Fish with the mackerel rig. With four mac's and four eels we were able to boat a couple of nice stripers. The fish to the right weighed 30lbs. and to the left 28lbs.

Nice work. Spent some time out there on Sat as well. Just cruising around with the better half. She didn't like the swells so we came inside. Nice to see those fish are still lurking around. I'm going to head out after work on Wed to wet a line.

I have done a lot of fly fishing around the country and in Canada over the past 25 years. Very little fly fishing is done in my business, but I still take the rod with me whenever possible.
