Plug advice

Found some old beat up Gibbs bottle swimmers that I might try to give new life to. After I repaint,I would like to do something different with the hook layout. Instead of the 3 small fish mangling trebles,I'm thinking a single in the back and one treble up front, any thoughts on sizes that won't kill the action. Can't upload at the moment, but the plugs are 7 1/2 in. 3 oz. Pics to follow hopefully.

May fortune favor the foolish....

For years I liked those plugs with two belly trebles and a tail flag.

For bottles in general it is my experience that if the plug floats slightly tail down with the water level even with the line tie up front you will usually be OK. You can also tweak the line tie up or down a little on a bottle (just like a swimmer) to get a better or more stable action.

Don't listen to this goog, he's gonna try to convince you the plug is no good, then offer to trade you one of his yellow darters for it..

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind

Try a 4/0 or 5/0 treble.
