Hogy flounder

Picked up a couple...reminds me of the old style version I bought from the surfcaster 20+ years ago. I never really fished them much but I am going to give them a try.

A friend of mine made me one out of leather that i posted a while back,
but it looked too heavy and cumbersome to fish.
Yours looks nice and light, SM.

The old one is a Petrifish. Caught some decent bass to about 30 lbs on one of those at Rose & Crown shoal a dozen years ago. Right about this time of year, too.

I saw the Gene Bourque sales pitch/talk at the Plum Island Show this winter. He mentioned that a good way to rig them was a salt water version of dropshot rigging. I cant vouch for having tried it but it looked like a great idea.
