I never built plugs in the SUMMER. always in the winter when the heat is on, so the get to dry in my basement, when the heat is running, but want to seal, an paint some for the plug bash in September to trade, can I SEAL them, an HANG them OUTSIDE to dry. or will it be to hum-mid to dry properly, can any one help

Yup dryin them in the summer can be a pain done wrong. I seal and let drip out side. then when no more drips show I hang them by the furnace which heats my hot water. Once dry I prime and then move them back by furnace after hangin a half hr. Then I repeat the process with each coat of paint. Some paints don't do well with the evenin dew or the constant rains like we have again this yr.Moisture between coats of paint or primer cause pealing and bubbles when the sun hits them .
i'm still playin with experiments while fishing so this is how I've dealt with dryin problems.A dehumidifier sure helps in a basement also.Especially one thats hasn't received any paint to help seal out moisture. Hope this helps. Ron
I stumbled onto the furnace heat for my hot water drying bucktails that I'd skinned out for fly tying.There's just enough residual heat to do the job without over heatin the paints,both sealers and finish coats. I even use it as a place to let the epoxy coat set up for a day. I've done a mess of plugs this way and had no problems so far. Tight lines Ron
