boston is s#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g

is it just me? or is bass fishing s#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g for everyone else in the harbor this season. im at the point where i just have absolutely no motivation to fish for them. maybe i have been spoiled by the last 3-4 years but this is weird to me. pogies are here but not packed up at all...my log says the first snagging and snaggable pogies began for me in june last year, began to peak around now up until about halloween. easily 50 fish over 20# by now last year, this year i have like 5?.. what is going on?

live to fish. fish to live. rod tips high.

westport sucked yesterday too. dirty brown water. It's the moon phase at the moment. lots of small bait down though.
Birds sitting in the water everywhere as if something had happened and may happen again at any moment. like the moment I left

For me,, historicly the real fun begins 2nd or 3rd week Sept. thru the 3rd week Oct.. last 2 yrs. have been disapointing .. Should be able to sight fish soon... cast to breaking fish top water.. Yeah it has sucked out there. I think I am done for the year. It sucks getting up early to drop in and then not know if you will get any bait, and waste craploads of fuel looking for bait.

can't always be good at the same place. Everywhere goes thru cycles. 2 years ago it sucked in my area. This year pretty good. With all the fish out at Stellwagen and along the Race and CCBay this year maybe they never had to, in quantity, go any further to find forage and thus never made it to you. Too early to give up yet, but I am sick of fishing stripers now too. I am going after the Albies now for something different, now that is aggravating and will probably drive me back to stripers quickly.

Unhappy

The pogies were just getting into snaggable numbers when the commercial seine netters came in and ended that. I believe the lousy harbor fishing is probably related to the weird weather this spring and summer, and has something to do with cycles as previously posted. I was hoping that the big baits showing up in snaggable numbers would bring the big fish and maybe we would have a decent fall run, but I no longer believe that. No bait= no fish. I am hoping for the best. My fingers are crossed.

I thought it was just me...

I have been fishing the harbor for about the last 9 years and the last two years have been the worst for me. A few years ago, if you got up early, you could always find some birds working and catch some schoolies - I have not even been able to do that.

Over this last weekend, I gave some live pogies nice tours of the harbor without anything hitting them. Let's hope that we get a few good days in the next few weeks.

Nothing around the Brewster's this afternoon either side of high tide: no birds, no bait, no fish, etc., etc, however I couldn't resist going out since next 3 days are not favorable to boaters.

This thread is therapeautic for me. Been a tough season until about a week ago. Thanks for posting but you need to get out there. Full moon kicked ass just a hair north of the harbor. Next couple weeks should be even better. Too bad I'll be in Kansas City, Kansas until Sunday. Just going to eat alot of bbq and put on some weight for the final push. Hopefully I'll come back to hear bAssDaWg hung a 5o# yo.
