I've been from Sakonnet to Fishers Island in the last two weeks and have gotten a Fish_Eye view of Sakonnet Point, Third Beach, Second Beach, Sheep Pen, Camorant Rock, Goosberry Island, Prices Neck, Seal Rock, Brenton Reef, Pt. Judith, Middle Wall, Weekapaug, Watch Hill and Fishers Island. Lots of albies, some pods of bluefish and bass mixed but no real wholesale movement of stripers yet.
It will come when they're ready and that weather will play a key role...as will bait. There's more rain bait around than I've seen in years, so they're fat and happy pigging out on tiny morsels.
Scup are everywhere as well, and in big schools.
I would like to see the march of the peanuts.

I was on BI for the last week and did'nt do/hear much out there either in the way of bass. Did catch a bunch of nice albies and bonito, plus a few world class scup.
In five nights, I landed 1 35" bass, lost 1 larger and caught the same 26" striper 12-15 times each night. My opinion is it's just getting ready to go...........

It's been worse than slow for me fishing the Westport area.
Even Big Fish plugs are failing me. Just kidding Larry!
Went out this morning... some "choppy".

Hit the canal a few early mornings this week. Each day progressively saw more bait and top water action. I even got rid of the jinx and caught a couple small keepers and big bluefish.
Amount of bait I'm seeing is amazing. Small herring, pogies and macks, all in the 4-6" range. Tuna don't prowl the canal unless bait is prevalent.
With all the N/NW/NE winds, we'll start seeing some more consistent action (topwater too I hope) in the coming week. Lets hope it starts tonite because I'm heading out for an all nighter.
