Go to the park as mentioned, and fish in the back, you'll see plenty of structure if you look. even blind travelling surf casters can find a nut there during a NE blow... was stuck out there for work for a few days in a NE'er ayear or so ago.....

I wouldn't bother with the back if it's been blowing. By this weekend the whole backside of Moses will be dirty and weedy because of the higher moon tides.

Grew up in Bay Shore and know the area well. (Although it is ALOT more developed nowadays) You have a couple options. The closest is around Fire Island inlet area. As the others have mentined, take Robert moses bridge to the last parking lot and walk to the inlet. You can also fish cedar, gilgo or the sore thumb area ...and if it doesn't pay off head over to Oak Beach Inn for a couple drinks
The bridge is very close to babylon. If you want to drive a bit, you can always fish shinnicock or Montauk.

Hate to tell you, Sandman, but the OBI's been closed for a number of years now. Building's gone and it's now a park.

You just bummed me out. How many places can you pull in with your boat after fishing, get served drinks on the dock and dance with girls in bikinis that have been sunning them selves all day and are now liquored up? That's was a kewl place.
