How You Will Spend The Winter!

Curious how you folks will spend the winter in preparation for next season?? Winter is damn long so I am wondering how you will help it pass???

Me??? I will be working on many of next seasons plugs for folks to catch their quarry with in the New Year! Aside from the usual plug work I will be working on a small needlefish prototype that should be ready for next spring! I will also be working on rigging my new kayak and my canal bike so they are ready to go when the fish arrive! Winter will also be spent making notes and studying the same so I can plot my strategy for next season! Maybe some ice fishing if we get a nice hard freeze! Also will be trying to plan a Muskie fishing trip for sometime next year.....its high on my bucket list! Mostly I will be daydreaming of warmer, fish filled times to come!

How about yourselves??

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

Shell fishing, ice fishing, finishing the basement, drinking beer, cleaning up the garage, hopefully snowmobiling, and spoiling the crap out of my son for his 1st x-mas. And also finishing a woman's 64 Schwinn Hollywood for the canal. And hanging up those damned lights

When I'm not online I have a bathroom I am gutting, a hardwood floor I didn't finish last winter and maybe a few plugs. I need a new rod, and maybe make my own plug bag, and maybe some teasers, and flies....and.... too much!

Thumbs up

Tons of family time. Play hockey 2-3 times a week. Getting the oldest on the ice this year.

Just found out I'll be playing in a game at Fenway this year following the Winter Classic! Can't wait.

going over notes from this year, replace all my broken stuff, buy new stuff. Ice fishing when it gets here, hot mulled wine and some grilled animal (doesnt matter what kind) on a cold day is fun.

Well .... Since I did the small needlefish last winter,,,,(1.25 oz 5" with 1/0 6x vmc's, casts very well and took a couple over 20# this year) I will be working on some other proto's.... I have a few friends that want me to make a couple classic plugs for them,,,,,

Going to pour some bucktails since they worked well for me this year in a few spots,,,, and just wish I was fishin til spring...

oh yea,,, maybe somewhere in there the airline industry will recover and I can go back to work,,,,,,

After I get done catching my 40lb slob sometime around Thanksgiving I'll probably snap my favorite rod so I can buy another one, then...... burn a few dozen custom wood plugs. What? I get bored in the winter.

gym, redo kitchen cabinates (paint and hardware), get ready for some big changes around the house, mentally prepare myself to slide fishing down the priority list for next year

Moving to a new house in Feb., snowboarding (I'm 50 but I'll still get out at least a dozen times), tying flies, maybe chasing some fish down in FLA., downing a couple/few manhattans and falling asleep on the couch.

I dunno, reading more DD posts from BigFish now that he's gonna have more time on his hands...

Other than that, I'll probably spend some time in the basement sorting out all my mixed nails, screws, nuts and washers into baby food jars and labeling them.

Maybe alphabetize them, then arrange them according to size and such...or maybe most frequently used...I dunno...

Hey, dude it's what old guys are supposed to do from what I understand, alright...

Okay, admittedly it's not much but I sorted out all my tackle last winter...alphabetized, arranged, etc etc
