Flap is gone

This morning @3am Steve suffered a cardiac arrest and died. This one leaves a big hole, a very big hole. Thanks for everything, Steve, I loved you.

I can't get my head around this, so surreal. A very good man has passed. My heart goes out to his family.

He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty, he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself.

Stunned. Just stunned. I am in disbelief and hoping this is a cruel joke. My regard for Steve is so high.....as I posted in the "Best Fisherman" thread just last night! I am a blubbering mess at this moment. Steve taught me so much in the years I have known him and I will forever be in his debt. So glad we enjoyed a few moments fishing this past fall.....just a few short weeks ago. I will cherish all of them. My condolences to Steve's wife and his daughters who he spoke of with great love often. Why the good ones too soon....why?

To Steve.....I wish you the tightest of lines, a 50 on every cast and eternal peace my friend.

I'm speechless.

My deepest sympathy to Steve's family and close friends.

Very sad. Last night two of you chose him as "best fisherman", meanwhile he was posting best wishes and recovery for someone else.
I did not know the man but I can tell he was a stand up guy and a great surfcaster. Deepest condolences to his family and all of you that knew him.

I am so shocked I can't believe it. George if there is anything I can do let me know please. It will be awfully hard to speak of Steve and his accomplishments in the past tense. Truly sad news. My thoughts and prayers to his family. I am with you Larry, I learned a great deal from Steve over the years and this news is a real shock. Way too young like so many of the great fishemen we've known. Rest in peace my friend.

This is just brutal news. RIP to Steve and my best wishes to his family.

I just spoke with my wife and told her of Flap...I was trying to tell her which guy it was, and said remember the guy who told me...you're leaving too early--- she said "oh that one"...well Steve you are leaving too early...

hell of a guy, that shared info. with me(most of the time), and took joy with the process, the friends, and EACH fish...

RIP
Thoughts and prayers for you and your family
