another QUESTION ?
Ihave never built BOTTLES don't know how  cause I hand carve  can any one tell me HOW-TO do this with out a LATHE

The process would be the same as with a lathe... just ALOT more beer. Bottles can be a real mofo...

On another popular site there is a thread on Shaping Bottelheads. Does not talk about hand carving but shows alot about making the face. It is bumped up near the top now.

can you shape the head of the bottle plug by using a ~1' forstner bit drilled from the side?

Yeah. it works. But you got to watch out for tear out. I tried that on my bottle journey.
