Handcarved Questions

Id like to build some hand carved lures for some people that have helped me out in the past either with fishing or just in general as a thank you gift.

what types of wood are you guys using?

sorry if this was covered somewhere else on the site. I suck at searches.

Select Eastern White Pine or Sugar Pine is ideal. Basswood is good as well.
