Tragedy

Well,I finally got around to putting away my gear for the winter tonight. After emptying out my third plugbag I started to get nausea,as I frantically turned over empty redbulls and old eel rags I realized my beloved 2 row VS bag was missing. Old style with the leather patch but still in good shape and a brand new set of tubes. It is what the tubes contained that makes me puke in my mouth though, jointed BM's,large BM darters,Old Musso deep divers and even some Hab and AH needles. AAAAARRGH!!

If anybody heard of a bag fitting this description found in the Cape Cod region I would be happy to reward with cash or pluggage.
Thanks, the Dummy

Chris, I wish you well in finding the bag. Did you go through the old routine of when you had it last, who were you with, what vehicle? Perhaps somewhere else in garage or house?

Hope you find your stuff. Tragedy may be a little overstating things though. I opened this thread thinking OMG who passed or got sick or injured and was actually thankfull it was just a plug bag missing. Granted it's a classic collection and all. I really do hope you find it though. Were you fishing alone? I'm sure you've gone through it over and over again and that is sure to make you sick. Good luck. and I'm really sorry.

Sorry for your loss... OK, may the bag resurrect.

Count back, when did you last use it. I imagine you've gone down that road but it might be worth shouting out so some people can look. Any chance someone is screwing with you? It probably is gone though.

Possibly in a friends truck or some stupid place you would never think of in your house? I've done some pretty strange stuff with my tackle on short sleep. I don't exactly live in a leave your doors unlocked area and I left an arra with a vs 250 in my back yard for a week without noticing it.

this season I left a $300 wetsuit, $100 korker boots, and wetsuit socks on a beach never to be seen again. Definitely can feel the pain of what you lost though. Virtually irreplacable.

So if you left that stuff on the beach, what did you wear back to your car? Sorry had to ask.

About 2 weeks ago a VS double went off on ebay w/a bunch of lures (about 70) I think. I'll try to locate the link, if it's still retrievable. I don't believe there were any BM's on the lot. Salty's and Afterhours maybe, I don't remember. It sold for about $220----a deal I'd say. I'm sorry to bring this up. I hope you locate yours and I'll see if I can find the sale on ebay right now. I'll get beck to you.

Found it, but the listing is down. Search ebay (completed listings) for Van Staal plug bag. You can see an image but the item description is no longer available. The lot was sold by Striperbum on NOv. 20th

Based on his description I don't think that's his bag.

i hate when that happens......you suddenly realize that something is gone that you had no IDEA was gone and then you go searching high and LOW only to come up empty handed.

That sucks man....hopefully its somehow miss- placed hiding behind something somewhere just out of site....like some boxes of junk.

The more I think about it,the more painful it gets.Cowboy jr and a spare spool for the 200 are the latest casualities. The difficult part is I stopped fishing a month ago,so it's kind of a haze.Fortunately my supply of plugs is pretty extensive but I'll have to give up a lot to replenish the big BM darters which were my last 2.Some of the collectibles will be sacrificed to replace them.I keep hoping this turns up or that it's a hoax but it seems chronic and energy drinks seem to have taken a toll.Goodness knows if I had stuck with plugs exclusively this could have been avoided but between two rods and a plug bag and a five gallon pail for eels I couldn't keep track. Thanks for the well wishes but this really leaves a sour taste.I put a downpayment on a boat today so maybe that will help (hurt) with organization.

That is a real bummer...I know. I lost a small AS bag a couple of years ago stuffed with custom plugs. I told myself someone stole it out of the back of my truck, which probably was the case, but I couldn't be positive that I didn't leave it on the rocks or next to my vehicle.
Not knowing is the gut wrench-er.....I hope it turns up for you.

I feel for you

I hate nothing more than loosing fishing stuff. Over the years I have lost a plug bag, a rod that I left on the hood of the car, and three surf belts with pliers. I had the kind of belt with the quick release buckle and it released when I didnot realize it. This year after I lost my third set of damar pliers I got a cobler to put velcrow on the overlaping part of the belt. Now I cant loose the belt. What a moron it only took me three belts and pair of pliers to figure it out. I feel your pain I hate loosing fishing stuff.
