haddock

been watching the comm landings of haddock coming in and the numbers are looking pretty large. with the limit down to 18" there won't be many throwbacks, not that there were many last year. last year there were lots of larger fish. let's hope this years the same. i'm getting the shakes - i don't think i'm going to last till the 16th. next stretch of nice weather i think i'll be taking a sick day. what size would a trophy haddock be?

my 1st wife didn't like me fishing so much

You will not believe this but I have never caught one!

Hope to change that this year!! But I have also heard the draggers are doing a number on them also, price like .75 a pound right now!

Just got the new motor hung and had all the service done, just need to do some rewiring and I ready for the water.

This probably won't go over to well but I think some much tighter restrictions need to be put in place !
18 inch and unlimited amount is stupid !
People have short memories of how not long ago they were close to wiped out.

That is absolutely right. Lots of decent fish so lets wipe em out, I never understood this. How about a reasonable bag limit for recs and reasonable poundage limit for comms.

I'm not exactly Mr. Conservation but I think the way it is now is stupid !
Add in the fact that those fish that were in close to the bank last year were spawning !

Amen - zero bag limit is stupid.

I'd say a 10lb Haddock is worth taking a picture. And if anyone tells you haddock only eat bait, not jigs, nod politely and know they don't fish much....

Mississippi was good, the fishing was just getting under way and real slow, but managed some nice trout and my friend got this nice Red

I hope to be ready in about 2 weeks?? I am waiting for a friend to help rewire the boat. With my hands I can't do the connections
But as soon as it done i am game for a trip!!
