They need a long rubber hose, some duct tape, and some hose clamps.... Add a Sheeetload of beer and some skynard cranking and that should do it. Yup.

Why can't they insert something inflatable into the pipe and inflate it to clog the pipe and stop the oil???

did anyone catch the 48k pound claw they dropped thast was in the video around lunch time? They were supposed to use it to rough cut that pipe.
btw that pipe is 4130 chrome moly steel. It's tough stuff to cut on land never mind a mile below the surface of the ocean.

I'm not sure if you know this or not but "these types of operations have never been attempted at 5000 feet, so there are no guarantees."
As if we haven't heard that enough. Every time they make a public statement, they end it with the above quote - almost as if they're trying to say "hey, it's not our fault this didn't work. The well is too deep."

i think they're being very careful in what they say because the lawyers are telling them to limit liability. They are very crafty with words....

personally I don't like either of the two schnozzholes on tv I think they both should go behind bars in the same cell for the next 30 years. And make them pay their own frickin way too.

This is so disturbing to watch... Nevermind the estimated gallons leaked meter.
Thanks for the link

I can't watch it. It is destoying an entire area of our country. I saw on abc news last night BP CEO says he wants his life back. WTF about the marine life being wiped out and the effects on the people down there?
Maybe if BP stock continues to plummet, there will be more of a sense of urgency. The media is finally starting to get hot with this spill.

"On Monday, a Daily News team was escorted away from a public beach on Elmer's Island bycops who said they were taking orders from BP.
BP spokesman Toby Odone denied the company is trying to hide the environmental damage; he noted BP has organized press visits to the spill zone and said BP cannot tell cops what to do."
SURE they can't but this is the second time now in the news
