Westerly
I'm new to striper fishing and need help. I've been fishing in Providence, at the Hurricane Barrier, and caught one striper about 24" long. This was my FIRST and only striper in my life. I caught it with a cut of bunker. I've also been fishing the Westerly RI area. The problem is I haven't caught anything since. (Three Week's) I've even been reading Striper Surf but thing's haven't sunk in yet.
Are there stripers around and how do I catch one?

Smicka - start small and keep it simple. Start off with some fishy places (most places where the rocks and sand meet the water in Weeky) at opportune times like sunrise and sunset, with proven catchers like smaller Storm shads, bucktails, small swimmers; mambos, redfins, bombers. Once getting success - expand from there. feel free to ask questions on methods and use the forum search
(ps, don't be afraid of tossing chunks - highly succesful)

Thank's for the advice. I'm trying to catch stripers but i'll be happy with almost anything (no eel's) pulling on the line. In freshwater I know what species are out there. With saltwater I'll need a book at first.
